For Dr. Yos Priestley, pediatric eye care is more than a profession—it’s a personal passion inspired by her own childhood experience with glasses. She knows firsthand how clear vision can open doors to learning, build confidence, and foster meaningful connections, and she has dedicated her career to helping children experience those same benefits.
Dr. Priestley earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lehigh University in 2006. She then graduated as valedictorian from the New England College of Optometry in 2010. While at NECO, she pursued additional pediatric training, including a life-changing service trip to Nicaragua, where she witnessed the profound impact of accessible eye care.

While at NECO, she pursued additional pediatric training, including a life-changing service trip to Nicaragua, where she witnessed the profound impact of accessible eye care.
Her commitment to excellence led her to complete a pediatric optometry residency, where she gained extensive experience working in world-renowned institutions such as Perkins School for the Blind, Boston Medical Center, and Tufts Floating Hospital for Children. These experiences shaped her expertise and solidified her mission to provide exceptional care for children of all abilities.
Dr. Priestley built her career in North Carolina, first in private practice and then as a faculty member at Duke University, where she spent 10 years specializing in pediatric optometry. At Duke Eye Center, she played a pivotal role in launching the Pediatric Myopia Clinic, an innovative collaboration between optometrists and ophthalmologists that became a model for care.
Having recently returned to her home state of Massachusetts, Dr. Priestley is excited to bring her expertise to Bright Eyes Needham. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, family-centered environment where children feel at ease and parents feel confident they’re receiving the highest quality care.
When she’s not at the office, Dr. Priestley enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their four children, often hiking, biking, or exploring local trails. A lifelong reader, she loves sharing her favorite book with her kids, and learning new stories through her children’s favorite books. She also has a passion for photography, blending her appreciation for optics with her joy in capturing the simple moments of family life and the beauty of the world around her.
